Until we are able to run face-to-face classes again, Wild Things will be using online platforms to connect, coach, and create work with our students.

Most of our online activities will be conducted via Zoom, which is an on online live video chat service. We will also use other methods of digital engagement, including uploading videos and photographs to our website and social media platforms.

It is important that staff, students and parents/guardians are vigilant and follow our Online Code of Conduct in order to protect themselves and each other.

What We Expect of You

Live Video Activities (via Zoom)

  • Only use your first name in group activities.
  • Make sure the people you live with know that you are joining a live video activity. A responsible adult must be present on the premises for the duration of the call.
  • Don’t include other family members if they are not registered for the class. Family members should only be present to supervise and help you to use the platform, and should not be in the video.
  • Join the activity from a shared living space. You should not be in your bedroom.
  • Have as much space to move in as possible and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Make sure there are no personal images in the background, or content others may find inappropriate.
  • Wear comfortable, appropriate clothing and ensure you are fully dressed. You should not be wearing pyjamas.
  • Do not record or take photos or record anything of the lesson, unless the Coach asks you to (the Coach will have sought permission from all students in advance).
  • Always show respect. Never use language or create work that would bully, upset, harass or intimidate another student or member of staff.
  • Take care of yourself. Don’t do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, or share anything that feels too personal.

Submitting Videos (via Email/WhatsApp)

  • Don’t use your full name in any recordings.
  • Don’t film anything that might reveal your full address, school or anywhere you go regularly.
  • Don’t film anyone who isn’t a direct participant of Wild Things Performing Arts’ activities.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and ensure you are fully dressed.
  • Do not include anything that others may find inappropriate, upsetting or intimidating.
  • Take care of yourself. Don’t do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, or share anything that feels too personal.
  • If using WhatsApp to send back class work, make sure it is a parent sending the video.

What You Can Expect of Us:

  • All online activities and content will be moderated. Staff will not permit content or language that others may find inappropriate, upsetting or intimidating.
  • During group online activities, Nancy Monaghan (or a deputy) will be present to supervise, along with the coach running the class.
  • During private lessons, or when no other staff member is present (ie. Due to illness), Staff will use Zoom’s “Record” function to record the activity.
  • We will only share photos and videos of you on Social Media if parental/guardian permission has been given on your Registration Form.
  • If you are worried or upset by something during a group activity, let the Coach leading the activity know, and they will deal with it as they would in a regular class. If you prefer, you can use the “Chat” function to send a Private Message to Wild Things Drama (this will go to Nancy or her deputy).
